Officially named Sa Majestat Tattoo Fil\u00f2s del Plor Antic Carnestoltes I, the king of the festival made his appearance at La Fragata after being summoned by several figures accompanying him. This Arribo celebration had to be postponed until 9 pm because of the heavy winds, but it was ultimately held. Because of this delay due to poor weather, the Predicot speech that Carnestoltes usually delivers at City Council joined the Arribo at La Fragata.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The visit to the organisation&#8217;s Xatonades went as planned in the programme of events. Both King Carnestoltes and the Carnival Queen, accompanied by their entourages, visited the Agrupaci\u00f3 de Balls Populars, the Casino Prado and El Retiro.<\/p>\n<p>This Friday was the day set aside for visiting schools and senior citizen residences, which took place despite the rain that fell throughout the morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year, 2026, Carnival is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the revival of the street parades. The Rua d\u2019Antes is slated to begin today at 7 pm after prior entertainment at Cap de la Vila with a special focus on these fifty years. Anyone in fancy dress can join the celebration, which will begin at the traditional starting point of the processions \u2013Cap de la Vila\u2013 although this year it is going to end on Passeig de la Ribera (near the swings). Music will be the feature and the common thread running throughout this Rua d\u2019Antes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carnival Saturday is confirmed as the \u2018Fardo\u2019 day, and it features the Bed Race at 12 noon and the afternoon balls on Passeig de la Ribera and in Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The major parades will start on Sunday. The Children&#8217;s Parade will be held at 12 noon, while the Rua de la Disbauxa will kick off at 7.30 pm.
