Don’t be confused: in November we’re already starting to celebrate activities in Sitges that are part of the so-called ‘Christmas holidays’<\/strong>. You’ll notice it if you walk near the Passeig Mar\u00edtim seafront promenade where, around the Club de Mar, there are stalls set up almost daily featuring artisanal and handmade products. And, also very typical of Sitges, opening hours are extensive and inclusive: from 10 am to 10 pm.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

November also includes a tradition that is also well-established in Sitges: the lighting of the Christmas lights<\/strong>. If you want to be there to witness the exact moment, the meeting point is at Cap de la Vila Square, in the heart of downtown Sitges, at 6 pm. And if you’re going to be here on Saturday, November 27th<\/sup> and you’re accompanied by young boys or girls, a very interesting proposal considering the activity in itself and the special place where it takes place: a family workshop to make an advent calendar at the Maricel Palace<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

November opens the Christmas season and December fills it with life. The activities calendar is intense and varied<\/strong>. There is something for everyone. Very Sitges, as you already know ;)<\/p>\n

If you would like, we will highlight some of the planned events. To give you a quick overview of what’s on offer: lots of light, lots of color, regal personages and, of course, a log with a Catalan \u201cbarretina\u201d cap that poops presents ;)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bright lights can be found in two main areas: the Christmas Tree<\/strong> located at Cap de la Vila Square, where from November 27th<\/sup> to January 7th<\/sup> there will be a daily performance of a show with music, and the Sitges Town Hall<\/strong>, where its fa\u00e7ade will be dressed up in festive style every evening, from 6 p.m. to midnight, from November 26th<\/sup> to January 6th<\/sup>. And attention, there will be a special projection on December 18th<\/sup> and also on January 2nd<\/sup>, with a spectacular mapping that can be seen, in 3-minute sessions, from 6 to 8:30 pm.<\/p>\n

Sitges’ businesses will also be joining in the holiday festivities. On december 17th<\/sup>, 18th<\/sup>, and 19th<\/sup>\u00a0 the streets around the town center will offer special entertainment, including surprises inside its shops. In addition, from December 3rd<\/sup> to January 5th<\/sup>, the establishments participating in Sitges Shopping will be giving away a 1,000-euro voucher. Oh, and the Winter Market Sitges<\/strong> is back this year, which will be setting up its giant tent on the Passeig de la Ribera seafront promenade<\/strong> on the weekend of December 18th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup>. This venue will bring together ‘artis@ns’ from the fields of photography, gastronomy, clothing, jewelry, decoration, patisserie, craft beer and creative pastry making. All handmade. And, as always, admission is free.<\/p>\n

Young boys and girls are undoubtedly the ones who look forward to the Christmas holidays the most. In fact, there are events they look forward to all year long. One of them, the arrival of the ‘Ti\u00f3’<\/strong>, the Christmas log that poops presents -we love to imagine the surprise of anyone who isn’t familiar with this tradition. In Sitges, the arrival is scheduled for December 18th<\/sup>. The Ti\u00f3’s ‘big poop’ is scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 p.m. (bouncy castles included) at Town Hall Square.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The other major children’s event is undoubtedly the arrival of Their Majesties the Three Kings of Orient<\/strong>, who arrive in Sitges on January 5th<\/sup> at five o’clock in the afternoon. Where? Well, being Sitges, you can imagine… The venue and starting point for the royal cavalcade is La Fragata Beach. By the way, the day before, the\u00a0Cau Ferrat Museum<\/strong><\/a>, a temple of Catalan Modernisme, will be hosting a family workshop where, in addition to visiting the most important wrought iron collection in Europe, children will be able to create their own key to give to the Three Wise Men along with their Christmas present list letter.<\/p>\n

Two additional notes: for those who want to start the year with a swim in Sitges -it requires a certain dose of courage, because although mild, there is also a winter in Sitges-, the appointment is January 1st<\/sup> at noon on Sant Sebasti\u00e0 Beach<\/strong>; and if you have the chance, don’t miss the guided tours that will be held on December 11th<\/sup> at Can Mil\u00e0<\/strong>, the recently inaugurated headquarters of the Sitges Visitor’s Service Center. The tour will end with a sweet and long-lasting flavor: a Malvasia wine<\/strong><\/a> tasting for everyone.<\/p>\n
