At one end of this little corner with its unbeatable acoustics is the <a class=\"link-blau\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sitgesanytime.com\/en\/pl409\/blog\/id3\/the-cau-ferrat-a-little-very-big-museum.htm\"><strong>Cau Ferrat<\/strong><strong> Museum<\/strong><\/a>. At the other, the<\/p>\n<p>spectacular 15<sup>th<\/sup>-century front door of the <a class=\"link-blau\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sitgesanytime.com\/en\/pl76\/explore\/discover-our-legacy\/sitges-museums\/id21\/palau-maricel.htm\">Maricel Palace<\/a>, from Salamanca. This door gives you access to a feast for the senses that you simply cannot miss. The Maricel Palace, which encompasses many different styles, finds its main aroma in <em>Noucentisme<\/em> -an early 20<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0century Catalan cultural movement that originated largely as a reaction against <em>Modernisme<\/em>&#8211; or eclectic art, which permeates the spectacular ornamentation of its main spaces: the <strong>Sal\u00f3 d&#8217;Or (Gold Room)<\/strong>, the <strong>Sal\u00f3 Blau (Blue Room)<\/strong>, the <strong>Chapel Room<\/strong>, the <strong>Ships Room<\/strong>, the <strong>Terraces<\/strong> (the wave-shaped ones on up on the flat roof) or the <strong>Cloister <\/strong>(from where you can enjoy a spec-ta-cu-lar panoramic view of the Mediterranean).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none\" src=\"\/site1\/imgs\/mgl7226-palau-maricel.jpg?h=1080&amp;w=1621\" alt=\"Palau Maricel\" width=\"1621\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A little bit of history and a few important names. The Maricel Palace was built between 1910 and 1918 by the artist and engineer <strong>Miquel Utrillo<\/strong>, commissioned by the American tycoon, art collector, and philanthropist <strong>Charles Deering<\/strong>, who fell in love with Sitges after visiting it (yet another one&#8230; what can we say?). And we would also add a significant third name: that of the sculptor <strong>Pere Jou<\/strong>, creator of the capitals on its fa\u00e7ade and inside as well, acknowledged as one of the best examples of <em>Noucentisme<\/em> from that period.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As well as delighting visitors, the Maricel Palace is a regular setting for workshops and concerts and is also often used as a <strong>venue for both institutional and cultural events, including conferences and presentations<\/strong>. Additionally, some of its spaces accommodate <em>corporate events<\/em> (the terrace guarantees long-range branding and team building). Ah&#8230; and <strong>also civil weddings<\/strong>.
