We celebrate Holy Week by singing
Dancing and singing is something we love in Sitges. And if you come during Holy Week, both on Holy Saturday and Easter Monday you will be able to see how the synchronised voices of the three groups of ‘caramellaires’ of Sitges shine: Caramelles del Prado, Caramelles del Retiro and Caramelles Sitgetanes, whom you can find at any time singing in a bar or in front of a house. All three also sing on Holy Saturday night, from eleven o’clock onwards, first in front of the Town Hall Square and then in front of the Parish Church of Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla, right after the celebration of the Easter Vigil. On Sunday the three processions meet at the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu del Vinyet, where the traditional mass is held at eleven in the morning. Then, from eleven o’clock until nine at night, the three groups spread out across different parts of the town.
