A spectacular route
‘Calas de Sitges’ (Sitges Coves). This is the name of the excursion we suggest. And the route lives up to its promise: setting off from the Platja de Les Anquines (Les Anquines Beach) towards Vilanova, we pass some of the most beautiful beaches and coves in Sitges: Platja de l’Home Mort (Dead Man’s Beach), the Platja Desenrocada (Desenrocada Beach) or Cala Xica. All of them, sandy embraces that dot a spectacular stretch of limestone cliffs known as ‘Els Colls i Miralpeix’, which is part of the Natura 2000 Network. In this area we can also discover (and enter if sea conditions allow) caves such as the Cova del Gegant (Giants’ Cave) (named after the two parallel ‘columns’ guarding it) or the Cova del ‘Bufador’ (Blowhole Cave), named after the water siphon that the waves sometimes create.

Wild coves of Sitges
Those of you who have already kayaked know that the experience is unique: you and the sea, following your rhythm and its own. A breeze on your face and an incomparable feeling of freedom, of breathing life in deeply. The good thing is that on this route, that universal feeling is joined by the natural beauty of the Platja de l’Home Mort or the Platja Desenrocada—only accessible by sea or on foot—or the ‘Cova del Gegant’, with turquoise waters and ideal for snorkelling in summer.
Kayak route for families
The kayak route through the coves of Sitges lasts approximately 3 hours. It is without doubt one of the most recommended and popular. The other route is called ‘Punta de Sitges’, ideal for children, which involves paddling along the town’s seafront from the Platja de Les Anquines.
