Museu Romàntic Can Llopis (Can Llopis Romantic Museum): art and history in Sitges

Located in a building with a neoclassical façade, its interior and romantic garden fully justify both its name and a visit (although it is currently closed for renovation works). Converted into a museum in 1949, the first floor displays mural paintings with biblical scenes by the painter Pau Rigalt. The second floor houses one of Europe’s largest collections of dolls and toys, donated by Lola Anglada.

The legacy of the Llopis family

The Romantic Museum of Sitges is closely linked to that of the Llopis family, who first designed the construction of the building (1793) and then, more than a hundred years later, ceded it to the Generalitat (Government of Catalonia) to convert it into a museum. This legacy forms the foundation, and the essence, of one of Sitges’ most distinctive museums.
