Tastings… and contests
In addition to the Pregón (opening speech) and the Pressing of the First Must, visitors can also enjoy unique traditions such as the Grape Treading Competition or the weighing of Sitges’ Pubilla and Hereu (festival representatives) in wine bottles, both held in collaboration with Bodegas Torres. These activities have been embraced by the town’s youngest residents, making this gastronomic and cultural festival a deeply rooted tradition among the local population.
Every October, the Mostra de Vins becomes a meeting point throughout the whole weekend, filling the Passeig de La Ribera and La Fragata with a showcase of wineries from the Garraf and the Penedès Designation of Origin, where visitors can taste wines and cavas in an open-air setting by the sea.
