If you love Modernisme, Barcelona is undoubtedly the world capital of this artistic movement and a city where you can admire the universal legacy of its greatest master, Antoni Gaudí, through works such as the Sagrada Família, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. You can also visit the magnificent Palau de la Música Catalana music hall. And that’s just the beginning…

A Modernisme route through Barcelona

The official Barcelona tourism portal suggests a Modernisme route through the city, which you can begin in the Eixample district, in the so-called Quadrat d’Or (“Golden Square”), home to the largest concentration of Modernista buildings in the Catalan capital. From there, continue along Passeig de Gràcia and admire the architectural brilliance of La Pedrera and Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudí, as well as Casa Amatller by the equally brilliant architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
